Arkholme RotaKids Help Organise Annual School Charity Day - 29 April 2015

Arkholme RotaKids helped to organise the annual Arkholme C of E Primary School Charity Day on 29 April 2015.

The charity day had a building theme with the money raised to be used in the reconstruction of schools destroyed by the cyclone in Vanuatu.

The day started with the help of Rotary members from Carnforth and Lunesdale Rotary Clubs who very kindly came and talked about their jobs in roofing, joinery, electrics and
plumbing.

The children were very interested to see the tools, slates, pipes and other equipment. The staff and pupils really appreciated these small insights into their jobs. The day continued with various building activities, including making brick shaped boxes to take home to collect further money in.

A total of £126 was raised on the day through dressing as builders and the ever popular cake sale.

The day was finished off with a talk by the builders of the new classroom which is being built in the school grounds.
